THE 21ST L.A.V. AT WALTON CHURCH. On Sunday afternoon last, the members of the 21st L.A.V. paid their of Sunday annual visit to St. Leonard’s Church, Walton. They assembled shortly before two o’clock, at their depot, St. Wilfrid-street, the muster being strong. Headed by the band of the corps, and under the command of Captain Paley, they marched along Chapel-street, through Winckley-square, over Avenham-walks, across the Tram Bridge, along the river side, by Walton Hall, and on to the village and the church. On arriving at the church, divine service was performed, and the Rev. J. C. Kershaw, vicar, and chaplain to the corps, preached a sermon highly suitable to the occasion. After service the volunteers partook of refreshments together in the School-room, served under the superintendance of Sergeant-Major Woodhouse. About five o’clock the volunteers assembled in the School-yard, and, after being formed in marching order, proceeded to Preston by way of London-road, to the depot, where they were dismissed. The annual inspection of the brigade will take place on Saturday next.
