They have been collated by the Internet Archive, which is a non-profit library of millions of free texts, and more. There are 48 reports available in total. The early Reports are exclusively by the Medical Officer of Health. The reports from 1955 are compiled by the Medical Officer of Health and the Chief Sanitary Inspector. The last report, which was published for the year ending 1972, is possibly the last one created, and not just the last one available online. The Walton‑le‑Dale Urban District Council (UDC) was the local governing authority established in 1894, replacing the local board formed in 1877, under the Local Government Act 1894. The council consisted of twelve members representing four wards—All Saints, East, St Leonard, and West—responsible for local amenities, sanitation, planning and more. The Walton‑le‑Dale Urban District Council was abolished on 1st April 1974 during the nationwide local government reorganisation. Its area was incorporated into the newly formed borough/district of South Ribble, whose council is based in Leyland.
