• Contact you by email within 10 days to make sure your suppliers have been to see you and been as helpful and courteous as you require.
• Contact you via Telephone to complete any purchase details for your project.

Trusted local suppliers protect you by contracting our suppliers to use the following standards. Every supplier on the trusted local suppliers network will work to the following standard. This ensures you have complete peace of mind, you understand clearly what service is being offered, and you will receive all the information you need to gain benefit from buying from the trusted local supplier’s network. You will be supplied with the following standard service from every trusted local supplier:

• 'Supplier Performance Charter'. This is a standard guarantee offered to every consumer.
• Customer charter. This sets out the standard of service every supplier has to adhere to whilst attending to your enquiry.
• Satisfaction declaration. This is an agreement between you and your supplier that the project has been completed to your satisfaction.

Once your project is completed and you have signed your satisfaction declaration, your supplier will forward this document to trusted local suppliers. We will then issue you an insurance backed guarantee to cover your project.

Why do I need an insurance backed guarantee?

• It is common practice for many local authorities to insist that the work carried out by their approved contractors is backed by insurance.
• If your contractor is unable to honour your guarantee due to receivership, administration or the winding up of the business due to bankruptcy, the insurance policy underwrites his written guarantee and takes the place of his guarantee for the remaining term of the cover.
• Every member of the trusted local suppliers network is backed by FENSA or Certass certification. This is a government backed scheme of self certification and inspection.
• You may require the insurance backed guarantee when you come to sell your property.
• You may not be able to sell your property without an approved insurance backed guarantee. If you do not have a guarantee you may have to pay for separate inspection of your property to make sure the installation has been carried out to the correct standards.
