Bamber Bridge Library is the nearest for residents of Walton le Dale.
Library Facilities
Membership is free and entitles the member to use of any Lancashire Library. To Join all that is needed are two proofs of ID, one with name & one with signature.
Membership entitles you to take up to 20 items (that's a mix of books, videos, talking books and, at the Harris, DVDS, CD-ROMs, and music CDs).
Any book in print can be reserved for 60p
Library Activities
The Library has the following activities on a regular basis:
- Story time and craft sessions
- Adult reading groups
- Book start events for toddlers
- Planned events such as cycle workshops,
talks and career sessions with local businesses.
Bamber Bridge Library is currently running two free computer courses in conjunction with Lancashire College on Saturday afternoons.
The current courses are basic 'Introduction to Computing' sessions and run for five weeks.
There is a reserve list, so anyone interested in a course on a Wednesday pm or Saturday pm should contact the library in person or by phone on 01772 335402.
The Library is hoping to vary these in future; maybe with a more advanced version and/or web page design etc. These would be subject to demand.
Also, by May 2002, the Library hopes to have 3 public access computers with free Internet provision.
