Walton-le-Dale Park & Ride

Lancashire County Council opened the County's second Park & Ride site on Sunday 1st December 2002.

The new 810 space Park & Ride is located at the rear of the Capitol Centre at Walton-le-Dale and boasts many special new features:

  • FREE and easy parking. You only pay the bus fare*.
  • Brand new low floor easy access buses with air conditioning, double glazing and internal and external CCTV coverage for added passenger comfort.
  • Distinctive Park & Ride livery.
  • Buses up to every 6 minutes throughout the day.
  • Avoid the congestion.
    Manned Park & Ride site also featuring CCTV.
  • Cheaper than parking in the City Centre.
  • Open from 0730 to 1930 6 days per week -also open on most Bank Holidays.
    (Closed Christmas Day, Boxing Day & New Year's Day).
  • On-site toilets and kiosk.
  • Covered waiting area with seating.
  • Fully illuminated site.
  • Disabled and parent & child parking.
  • Ride & Ride - cycle parking available.
  • Service operated by Preston Bus on behalf of Lancashire County Council.

Bus Services

First service for the City Centre (Jacson Street) leaves at 0730 and then up to every 6 minutes with the last departure at 1924.
Return services from the City Centre will operate from 0735 and then up to every 6 minutes until the last departure for Walton-le-Dale at 1930.

Services operate non-stop to and from the Jacson Street terminus next to the Harris Museum/Library in the City Centre

Bus Fares

Return fare from the Park & Ride to the Preston City Centre is £1.50 per person before 0930 (Monday-Friday).
After 0930 and all day Saturday the cost is only 70p per person (introductory offer).

Senior Citizens with passes and children pay half the above fares.

Special Fares

A Family Ticket is also available at the cost of £1.40 which allows up to 2 adults and 2 children to travel after 9.30am only and all day Saturday.

''Saverstrip'' - for regular travellers why not purchase a ticket which allows ten journeys for the price of nine.

These can be bought from the on-site kiosk. Payment can also be made by debit/credit card at the on-site kiosk.
